US resident Raymond Cox currently holds the world record for having the highest Xbox Gamerscore, which at the moment stands at 994,990.
Yes, that’s right, he’s almost at a million Gamerscore. That is, at the very least, a thousand games completed with every single achievement unlocked. The feat is staggering in terms of the sheer amount of time required to unlock them all, as well as the number of games he’s played.
Helping him along is the fact that Cox has farmed achievements on all of Microsoft’s Gamerscore-earning platforms, including Windows Phone, the Xbox One and Xbox 360.
Over the weekend, Cox live-streamed his efforts to reach the million mark. He fell short, however, citing the changeover to Daylight Savings time that lost him an hour of gaming time, and said via Twitter that he’d continue with his quest today, Monday the 10th of March. He also hopes to break the record for the most Gamerscore unlocked in a day, which apparently stands at 17,000.
Thanks to everyone that stopped by my stream tonight. Lets do it all over again on Monday! It’s time to end this.

The entire live stream of his weekend’s work can be seen on Twitch, and if you want to follow today’s activities, check out his Twitch.tv channel here.
For his troubles (and, presumably, all the excellent coverage he’s given the Xbox brand), Cox was given lifetime Xbox Live Gold membership and a unique white Xbox One by none other than Mr. Xbox himself, Larry “Major Nelson” Hyrb.
Most surprisingly, Ray Cox doesn’t look remotely like what you’d expect of someone who has played so many videogames.
Must be all those Kinect achievements.
