Watch Edward Snowden’s interview from SXSW

If, like us, you aren’t luck enough to be at the big tech jamboree that is SXSW in Austin, Texas this week, you may have missed NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden give his first live talk on the subject of internet surveillance and the huge cache of files from US and UK security agencies that he leaked to the press.

Hero or villain? Snowden was appearing via a Google Hangout from Russia, where he is currently enjoying political asylum. His talk lasted a full hour, staged as an interview with Ben Wizner and Christopher Soghoian of the American Civil Liberties Union.

You can see it all below. The audio is pretty lousy, but it’s well worth watching. The key takeaway point? “I’d do it all again”.
