Our pals over at Lazygamer have brought this brilliant deal to our attention: the original Dead Space – one of the very best survival-horror games to come out in the last 6 years – is available for absolutely zero bucks through EA’s Origin client for PCs until the 8th of May.

To claim it, all you need to do is open up your Origin client, search for Dead Space on the storefront, and click the “Get it now” button on the game’s store page.

That’s all there is to it, and after a quick 7GB download, you too can shoot, stomp and run away from animated corpses in space while soiling your underwear all weekend long.

Just be warned, the game can be pretty scary so maybe don’t grab it if you frighten easily. Perhaps more importantly, it will control much, MUCH better with some sort of console controller attached to your PC. Unfortunately for PC gamers, the PC port wasn’t particularly well done, leaving things like keyboard and mouse control badly implemented so a controller is highly recommended.
