Not taking your game seriously is a sure way to make people laugh, and that’s exactly what the latest trailer for Goat Simulator does.

Developer Coffee Stain Studios has not only made a game that looks so funny that I – and probably many others – pre-ordered it on the basis of how much laughter it elicited, but they’ve also put out one of the funniest launch trailers I’ve ever seen.

Before you watch the Goat Simulator promo below, do yourself a favour and go watch Dead Island’s 2011 trailer first. It’s one of the most emotional, evocative trailers in gaming history, and even though the game didn’t quite live up to the drama hinted at in the clip, its trailer remains a work of art. It’ll give you the perspective needed to appreciate Coffee Stain Studios’ effort.

Goat Simulator is out on April 1 on Steam, but if you pre-order it from the Goat Simulator site like I’ve done, you’ll get to play it tomorrow, the 28th of March.
