Still time to take a #GlobalSelfie for space

We’re nearing the end of ‘Earth Day’ (22nd April) but there’s still time to take part in a huge global event being organised by NASA: the agency is inviting you to send it your selfies.

The idea is that NASA is momentarily tired of taking gazillions of gigabytes of digital images of our planet and the universe beyond, and instead wants to create a picture with your input. It’s monitoring Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Google + for the hashtag #GlobalSelfie and will stitch together all the pictures it finds thusly tagged into one giant mosaic on top of the Blue Marble.

All you need to do is print out the sign you’ll find at this link, write your location on it, and post a selfie of you holding it using the hashtag #GlobalSelfie. There’s still time to get plenty with the South African night sky on there.
