Give R100 to charity & get cast in Star Wars Episode VII

If you’ve ever dreamt of being a part of the Star Wars universe, this could be your chance at fulfilling that wish.

Lucasfilm, Bad Robot, Disney and UNICEF have all teamed up to form the Star Wars: Force For Change charity campaign, to raise funds for various UNICEF projects around the world. All you have to do is donate any amount of money from as little as $10 (around R110) and you and a friend could be selected as VIP guests to fly over to the Star Wars set and film an actual scene for the movie.

You can contribute through the Star Wars: Force For Change crowdfunding page on Omaze, the money raised will go towards projects such as building portable, solar-powered learning kits in China, Uganda, and Burundi and a text messaging solution in Zambia that helps families get infant medical test results from clinics quickly on their mobile phones.

The higher your contribution the more entries you get. You also score extra entries when you share the campaign, and get your friends to contribute via your shared link. There are also rewards for each contribution amount, so you won’t walk away completely empty handed.

There is a catch – South Africa isn’t mentioned on the list of countries to whom the competition is open to. However, the campaign page does say that you may enter as long as the laws of your country of residence permit you to participate in this promotion, make a contribution to U.S. Fund for UNICEF, or receive any prize or reward listed.

The competition closes on July 18th and the winner will be flown to London in August t0 enjoy their prize and start shooting.
