Evolve gets a release date

October will see the arrival of the epic cat-and-mouse multiplayer shooter Evolve, which we spent some hands-on time with a few months back. If you recall, we loved what we saw as the game married the best of Left for Dead’s team-based co-operation with incredible sci-fi graphics, environments and weapons.

The latest news out of 2K Games and the game’s local distributor, Megarom, is that Evolve will be out on PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One on October 21st. In a month with rAge on the go and the Xbox One being released the month before, that’s a whole lot of gaming goodness to absorb.

Gamers who pre-order Evolve will get the “Monster Expansion Pack” that includes a new “Savage Goliath” skin for their monster as well as an entirely new monster when it’s ready for release. A second bonus comes in the form of one of two extras, depending on where you pre-order your game: the Exterminator Weapon Skin Pack or the Instant Hunter Pack.

There’s no word on what the Instant Hunter Pack is, exactly, but 2K International did post a mysterious picture on their Twitter feed showing off four new Hunters that we didn’t see in our hands-on time with the game, so maybe that has something to do with it:

Megarom advises gamers to check with their local retailers which bonuses they will be awarding to pre-orderers.
