Sony’s giving PlayStation Plus members 6 free games a month

From June, PlayStation Plus subscribers will get two new games each month per PlayStation platform they own. So if you have a PS4, PS3 and a PS Vita, that’s six new games every month for as long as you maintain your PlayStation Plus membership.

While getting extra games every month is enough good news, this marks a new approach by Sony to bring gamers new PlayStation Plus content on a far more regular, dependable basis. The reason for the change is likely down to Microsoft announcing that its Games with Gold programme will begin rolling out free Xbox One games to Xbox Live Gold members as of June.

Competition, then, is clearly a very good thing for gamers.

Kicking off on June 4th, the PlayStation Plus membership will give subscribers the following new games:

  • Pixeljunk Shooter Ultimate (Cross Buy)
  • Trine 2: The Complete Story (PS4)
  • NBA 2K14 (PS3)
  • Lone Survivor (Cross Buy)
  • Dragon’s Crown (PS Vita)
  • Surge Deluxe (PS Vita)

While as of tomorrow, the following games are leaving the PlayStation Plus roster:

  • Stick it to the Man
  • Payday 2
  • Brothers A Tale of Two Sons
  • Muramasa Rebirth
  • Everybody’s Golf

Does Sony’s commitment to a more regular and dependable PS Plus update (and its selection of June’s games) make you happy? Let us know on the forum.
