Check out these Land Rover production sketches

For car enthusiasts, Land Rover South Africa has made some neat production sketches available of the Land Rover Discovery Series I to III. “From the original award-winning Series I design to x-ray drawings of Series II and the original annotations on the Series III conception,” the company posted on their Facebook page.

Introduced into the market in 1989, the Series I Discovery was code-named “Project Jay”, and had its chassis and drivetrain based on the Range Rover. It was also the only Discovery generation with a four-cylinder petrol engine.

The iconic Land Rover won a British Design Award in 1989, while the Discovery III was awarded the “4WD of the Year” by the 4WD press in Australia.

In March 2012 Land Rover achieved another milestone, when the one millionth Discovery example to be built rolled off the Solihull production.
