Preggies: The social network for expectant moms

No one understands a pregnant woman’s weird cravings, mood swings, and everything else that comes with expecting a baby better than another pregnant woman or mother. So a new app called Preggies is giving moms-to-be a platform to engage, share and socialise with women just like them.

“The app takes a completely unique approach: it links the user with hundreds of ladies in her local area so that they have a lot to share. It is based on the-same-pregnancy-stage principle, which means letting the user read posts of ladies who are at the same week in their pregnancy,” reads the app’s description on iTunes.

On Preggies, pregnant women can share advice, tips, like and favourite posts, ask and answer questions, subscribe to users they like (which is the equivalent to Twitter’s follow option) and upload unlimited texts and photos.

Preggies has borrowed a bit from Twitter and Instagram’s designs to make the app look very similar to the popular social networks.

Preggies is only available for iOS for now, with an Android app expected to launch soon.
