Good news for Xbox gamers in South Africa. Microsoft announced today that it has launched a dedicated South African Xbox application, so you can find out which games are and (by omission, aren’t) from the comfort of your Windows 8 tablet or Windows Phone handset.

“The launch of our application arrived just in time as we are planning on posting tons of E3 content next week. It will be the one destination to get all your behind-the-scenes footage of the hottest games!”

Xbox South Africa’s public relations manager Graeme Selvan explained that by using the app, you will get game trailers from upcoming titles, will be able to listen to the latest Xbox podcast, view photo galleries of Microsoft games, and read up on titles.

Selvan added that new content will be added over the coming months, which will expand the experience. “The app will expand over the coming months as we plan on offering even more features to our audience.”

According to the app’s description, “This app is the ultimate media hub for Xbox South Africa.  See all the latest news, videos, podcast and images from the events hosted by Xbox South Africa.  That’s not all, post a tweet with the hashtag #xboxza and see your tweet come alive in the app.”
