We’ve been noodling around space stations with greater or lesser (mostly lesser) luck for a few weeks now, courtesy of nostalgia-trip-cum-cutting-edge sim-em-up Elite: Dangerous. Sadly, there’s just one more week to go before our time in the Premium Beta is up.
Because Beta 2 is arriving on Tuesday 24th June. Hur, hur, hur.
This week’s regular newsletter from the development team highlights a few new features that will be added alongside bugfixes from the current beta. These include:
A new (unidentified) cockpit.
Three new star systems: Aulin, LHS 3006 and Styx. The latter has, curiously, no registered inhabitants so presumably no space stations, while the former has an all-new Orbis space station which is not the usual spinning dodecahedron: it’s a torus. Tada.
And there’s a new ship – a cheap 16 hold slot freighter called the Hauler. Tada!
But the bad news is that your progress will be reset once Beta 2 launches…
