Huawei’s Ascend P7 launches July 7th in SA

One of our favourite phones of the year so far, the Huawei Ascend P7, has been confirmed for South African shores. The Chinese firm’s flagship will officially be available here from the 7th of July and will cost just R6 699.

According to Huawei, Vodacom has an exclusive on the handset for the month of July where contract prices will start at R379 a month. If you want a real bargain, though, you can pick it up from the Orange Store (which imports from the UK) right now for just R4 930.

The phone itself is a beautiful aluminium and glass sliver, not unlike its predecessor the P6. It boasts a quad core 1.8GHz processor made by Huawei itself, a 13MP rear camera and a huge 8MP front facing camera too. The screen is a 1920×1080 IPS affair and – of course – it has an LTE radio on board.

Speaking of radios, it also features an FM receiver. Which is actually ace.

If you’re looking for more information on the Ascend P7 before it’s release then you can head on over to our full review at this link.
