[WATCH] The Ministry of Silly Walks is now a mobile game

In a twist of fate that even people who expect the Spanish Inquisition didn’t see coming, Monty Python’s Ministry of Silly Walks skit has been resurrected for the mobile era in game form by Boondoggle Studios.

For anyone with a decidedly British sense of humour, the skit is utterly hysterical, and one of the comedy troupe’s most memorable. It’s all about a hapless soul applying for government backing to develop his not-all-that-silly walk into a full-blown silly one by consulting with John Cleese, an official for the Ministry with the silliest of silly walks.

Now, it’s a side-scrolling game for Android and iOS featuring Cleese’s character. Behold:

The game is available on the iTunes store for less than the cost of a burger: R14.99, while it goes for R17.88 on the Google Play Store. As the video shows, it will have you silly-walking your way through side-scrolling levels where you must avoid obstacles while collecting coins. It’s a simple idea, to be sure, but well worth the cash as is any pastime that makes you laugh.

And yes, that’s John Cleese himself you hear in the video, reprising his role as the silly-walk-sporting Ministry official.

In case you’ve never seen the original skit, here it is below:

You’re welcome.
