What could be better than an evening of networking with Joburg’s brightest and best entrepreneurs, sharing business tips, founding companies and whatever else clever people do at events like Startup Grind? How about also hearing from the publisher of your favourite tech website and ours about what it’s like to go it alone as an independent media house starting from scratch these days?

Yep, at the next Startup Grind event – which takes place on 23rd July at JoziHub – our very own Brett Haggard is in the hotchair to talk about striking out without so much as a bank loan and making money from new media business models. He has a lot to say on the subject – and near infinite experience of why you can’t just import a business model from overseas and make it work in South Africa.

The rest of the htxt.africa team will be there too (we sort of have to be, really), so come along and enjoy. It kicks off at 6pm, and full details are over here – ticket sales on the door.
