Ster Kinekor and Videovision, the company behind Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom the movie, are giving South Africans the chance to go and watch the official biopic around the country free this Mandela Day.

Mandela Day takes place every year on the late former president’s birthday – 18th July – as a way to honour the 67 years of service he dedicated to the Apartheid struggle, and to encourage citizens to spend at least 67 minutes giving back to those less fortunate on the day.

The Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom free Ster Kinekor screening will be at 9:45am and keen viewers will be admitted on a first-come-first-serve basis.

“We hope that the audience watching the film will be inspired to give back to their communities by following Madiba’s example,” said Anant Singh the movie’s producer.

You can locate the nearest cinema using the Ster Kinekor app for Android, iOS, Windows Phone or BlackBerry.
