Brazil vs Germany match smashes Twitter record

Did you watch the soccer last night? Brazil’s shocking 7-1 defeat to Germany in the World Cup semi-final clash is now, officially, the most tweeted sports event in history, breaking multiple records including the previous one set by the Brazil vs Chile match on 16th June.

Twitter Data posted a tweet stating that the Brazil vs Germany racked up 35.6 million tweets, more than double the 16.4 million tweets sent during the Brazil vs Chile match.

German midfielder Sami Khedira goal in the 29th minute, which brought the scoreline up to 5-0, set the new record for the most tweets per minute at 580 166 tweets.
