TEDxJohannesburg has just announced the launch of an initiative that will see a select number of young people between the ages of 18-30 joining the list of influential speakers at this year’s upcoming event in August.

The 1830 Fellows initiative is looking for 20 people from a variety of disciplines and backgrounds. They want people with big aspirations who already have a string of achievements to join the fellowship programme where they will participate in skills-building workshops, get access to a network of change-makers, mentors and big names and present a talk on the TEDxJohannesburg event stage for free.

It sounds rather tempting, if you ask me.

“The programme promises participants increased clarity of mission and a renewed sense of personal sustainability. Most importantly, 1830 Fellows get a chance to develop significant collaborations with each other and become the roots of the TEDxJohannesburg community going into the future,” TEDxJohannesburg says.
