Love The Expendables movie franchise? Looking forward to the third one coming out on August 15? Want a free PC game made by South African developers based on it? Then Expendabros is for you – it’s completely-free standalone DLC for the very popular BroForce. It’s available right now through Steam and is but a tiny (123MB) download away from occupying your hard drive for a long time indeed.
You’ll get ten free levels and a bunch of new bros based on characters from the movie, as well as all of the delicious pixelated destruction and over-the-top mayhem the game has become known for. Best of all, you won’t pay a cent for it.
I love how the developers have adapted the movie’s character names to the BroForce nomenclature: you can play as Broney Ross, Bro Christmas, Trent Broser, Bronar Jensen, Bro Caesar, Broctor Death and Toll Broad.
To keep things fresh, each character has his own unique weapons, something that will keep you amused despite the limited number of enemy types to blow away with maximum prejudice. Who cares what those meatbags look like anyway? They’re just there to splash red across the landscape… and splash they do. Good times.
To get it, open up Steam and load the BroForce page; about halfway down you’ll see The Expendabros and a green Install button. Click it, grab the data and start blowing @#$% up. Or search for Expendabros from Steam’s main page, and get it from there.
It’s a fantastic way to promote both the upcoming movie and the main BroForce game. If you haven’t picked it up yet, The Expendabros is a great way to see if you’ll like BroForce, and if you don’t, no sweat because it’s totally free.
Now that’s a promotion I can get behind.
