Applications now open for WeTech’s second batch of seed grants for African women in STEM

Do you have a project that focuses on the advancement of women  in science, tech, engineering and maths (STEM) and are looking for funding?

Then apply for the Institute of International Education’s Women Enhancing Technology (WeTech) Seed Fund aimed at supporting such projects.

This May, 17 projects focusing on women and girls in STEM from around Africa were selected as beneficiaries of the WeTech Seed Fund in partnership with Google, and received grants between R20 000 and R200 000.

Applications for the second batch of beneficiaries are now open to all non-governmental agencies, individuals, social enterprises and academic institutions that support the advancement of women in technology across the continent. You can apply and be in line to receive a grant, participate in, and contribute to, a virtual community of fellow grantees and constant support from WeTech.

Individuals and volunteer-led or smaller organisations are invited to apply for a grant range of $2,000 (around R21 000) to $5,000 (around R 51 000). Organisations with an annual operating budget of at least $25 000 (around R251 000) are invited to apply for a grant range of $5,000 (around R 51 000) to $20,000 (R 200 000).

You can apply for the WeTech Seed Fund on the WeTech website – applications close on the 10th of September.
