Everything seems to be getting smaller and smaller by the day, and in today’s episode of the htxt.africast, Charlie, Dave and Lungelo talk about the world’s smallest 3G modem from IBM. It measures only 300 sq. mm, and is part of its Internet of Things strategy.

And speaking of connected things, we take a look at Samsung’s new Gear S smartwatch, which doesn’t need to be tethered to any other Samsung product as it can connect to the internet all by its self. We cap off with a bit of weird news as we inch closer to the weekend, and discuss the fact that Hello Kitty has been revealed as being a human girl – with which Dave totally disagrees with.

Charlie started his professional life as a motoring journalist for a community newspaper in Mpumalanga, Charlie explored different journalistic angles since his entry into the fast-paced world of publishing in 2006. While fostering a passion for the arts, Charlie developed a love for technology – both which allowed him to serve as Entertainment and Technology Editor for an online publication. Charlie has since been heavily involved in consumer technology for various websites and publications. He thoroughly enjoys World War II films and cerebral documentaries; aviation; photography and indie music. Oh yes, and he also has a rather strange obsession with collecting coffee mugs from his travels.
