Leaked video shows a working, activated iPhone 6

Tomorrow night will almost certainly see the introduction of new iPhone 6 into the Apple stable of products. In fact, if rumour and conjecture are to be believed, there will be two new iPhones announced – one with a 4.7 inch display and another with a larger 5.5 inch screen.

While we will definitely have to wait to to see the latter, it looks like you can already catch a sneaky glimpse of the 4.7 inch iPhone 6 after a set of pictures and a video showing what looks to be a genuine working model were released/leaked over the weekend.

A user on Chinese social media site Sina Weibo has posted a set of photos which show a legitimate, fully functional and activated iPhone 6 running the latest version of iOS 8.

There is even a short video of the phone being unlocked using the TouchID fingerprint sensor in the home button which, while it could be elaborately faked, seems to indicate that the phone being used is indeed genuine.

There are some interesting things to note from the video including a new fourth line in the icon for PassBook app which looks to be showing a credit card, something that could be the link to the mobile payment rumours that have been doing the rounds in the last few months. The home screen also has an additional sixth row for icons which supports rumours of an increase in display resolution to 750×1 334.

Whatever the leaks say, everything will be cleared up tomorrow night when Tim Cook takes to the stage to unveil the new smartphones to the world.
