Update to iOS 8 for free

Depending on how up-to-date your iPhone or iPad is, the latest iOS 8 update weighs in at anything from 1GB upward. With the hordes of people attempting to download it today, Apple’s servers will no doubt be taking strain and your iOS download might be a little slow.

Thankfully, there is an easier way to get the update onto your phone and it will only cost you a bit of time spent with someone official-looking at an iStore: from the 19th of September you can bring any iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch into an iStore to get updated irrespective of where you bought it. That’s a lot better than blowing through your data cap at home.

Here’s how to do it:

  • Book a technical session, or book to attend an evening upgrade event at www.mystore.co.za (Booking is essential).
  • Make sure you backup your iOS device beforehand.
  • Pop into any iStore with your iOS device, and get set to join the iOS 8 revolution.
