Seed Academy offering tech entrepreneurs R2m worth of training for free

Johannesburg startup incubator Seed Engine‘s Seed Academy for entrepreneurs is giving 120 early stage tech entrepreneurs the chance to join its Think.Be.Do programme offering training worth up to R2 million for free.

Entrepreneurs participating in Think.Be.Do will go through 10 weeks of training that will take place once a week after hours with support offered for up to 18 months thereafter.

Although Think.Be.Do is aimed at tech entrepreneurs, it is open to other compelling businesses and business ideas, according to Lara Rosmarin, CEO of Seed Academy.

Think.Be.Do will focus on personal and leadership development, sound business skills, the creation of a business plan as well as pitching to attract funding. The programme is practical and facilitated by experienced entrepreneurs.

Entrepreneurs will then be part of an alumni programme offering master class events and networking opportunities.

“Historically we have seen corporates trying to get BEE points but with a programme like Seed Academy we directly benefit many young business owners who then support the communities or industries that they serve. The programme offers a real return on investment as the process is monitored and evaluated to ensure goals are being met,” Rosmarin said.

Entrepreneurs can apply for the Think.Be.Do programme which starts on 3oth September by visiting the Seed Academy website. The intake thereafter will be in October 2014.
