Half-term GeekStars workshop to teach coding and electronics to Pretoria kids

Have teenagers? Want to ship them out somewhere they can learn cool things over the upcoming school holidays? Then Geekulcha’s Vacation Work Programme could be of interest.

The organisation is offering a five-day programme for ten youngsters who will spend from October the 6th to October the 10th at mLab at the Innovation Hub in Pretoria, learning about web development, mobile apps, electronics and business entrepreneurship from wise geeks who love to share their knowledge.

Each youngster will be assigned a mentor from the Geekulcha crew who will do their best to impart as much knowledge and skill on their wards throughout the course’s duration.

At the end of the course participants will receive a certificate of attendance and be certified as Future GeekStars.

The organisers say the aim of the programme is to give youngsters valuable knowledge and insight into the tech world that will help them both at school and in the years to come.

If this sounds like something you’d be interested in, check out the Geekulcha website, where you can find out more and sign your kid up. All that’s asked of you is a “commitment fee” of R100 that secures your child’s place in the programme.
