Bug reveals info on Destiny’s expansions

Over the past weekend an interesting bug reared its head in Destiny, showing off a bunch of new locations that will likely appear in the game’s upcoming expansions.

A video posted by Destiny player and YouTube user Scott M highlighted a number of new, off-limits locations, with text saying “Expansion Required” and “Requirements not met” as was the case in the game’s alpha and beta tests.

By the looks of it, there’s a lot of additional strike missions, some new intro missions for Old Russia and a new raid called “Crota’s End”. The first expansion, The Dark Below, is scheduled to arrive in December, and will contain at least some of these missions for players to enjoy.

The question is, though, whether gamers will still be playing Destiny come December, what with the upcoming release season that will see heavy-hitters Assassin’s Creed: Unity, Dragon Age: Inquisition, Alien: Isolation, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and many others arriving to suck up gamers’ time.

Add to that complaints that life after Destiny’s level cap isn’t nearly as much fun or rewarding as gamers had hoped (the single raid aside – apparently The Glass Vault is awesome), and additional content may come too late to keep players interested.

Still, there are a lot of gamers with faith in Bungie, and it’s tidbits like those seen in Scott M’s video that will ensure there’s at least a little enthusiasm among the Destiny community for new stuff to see, do and shoot at.
