Google hosting free User Experience Masterclasses for UX designers in Cape Town

If you’re into digital design and creating outstanding user experiences for apps and websites, then you may be interested in attending the Google User Experience Masterclass taking place during October in South Africa, Kenya and Nigeria.

Google is sending over a group of its top UX designers from the US to host the Google User Experience Masterclass in partnership with Flow Interactive in Cape Town, the Pan Atlantic University in Lagos and iHub in Nairobi to teach developers, designers and product managers the process of taking an idea from concept to launch (including sketching, user testing, prototyping, and the importance of making continuous improvements to keep users engaged and satisfied).

The masterclass will cover interaction and visual design patterns including Material Design. Participants will be introduced to the basic concepts of UX design, learn the most important practical techniques used by UX designers and work in teams to practice these techniques.

Local developers will also be there to share the UX considerations they took in their app’s design and development.

The Google User Experience Masterclass will be held on 7th and 8th October in Cape Town. The venue is yet to be announced, but you can apply to attend on the Flow Interactive website. For Lagos and Nairobi classes, fill out the forms on the Pan Atlantic University and iHub websites. Applications for all classes close on 22nd September.
