Joburg launches smart city/citizen reporting app for services

Have a service delivery issue you would like to take up with the City of Joburg? Now you can forward all your complaints (and compliments) to the city via a newly-launched app.

The Citizen Engagement Mobile App, also known as POC, allows residents to log faults, chat with agents, send feedback or receive messages targeted for your suburb.

You can report service faults concerning the Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA), City Parks, City Power, Pikitup, Rea Vaya, Joburg Water or Metrobus.

To get started on POC, you need to create an account, set up a profile and submit your details to the app.

From there on, you can log faults and chat to an agent who will address any query you have during office hours, call any emergency service via the pre-loaded number directory, give negative or positive feedback on the quality of service, share the app with a friend by submitting their phone number and receive notifications and news from the City of Joburg.

According to the City of Joburg, the POC app “is the fastest, most convenient and cost-effective way to interact with the city.”

So there you have it. You can access the POC app from your phone from the City of Joburg site.
