Three female-centric sessions to look out for at Tech4Africa

Day one of the Tech4Africa conference is currently underway at the Sci-Bono Discovery Centre in Newtown. If you’re attending, there are three sessions centred around women in technology scheduled for day two that you really should look out for.

The Tech4Africa Conference hosts workshops, talks, networking sessions and panel discussions for professionals and non-professionals involved or interested in the tech sector to engage on the African tech scene and its future.

The first female-focused session will be a panel discussion titled “Women in tech: Yes, there are women in tech” and feature the following speakers:

The panel discussion will be hosted in the main room from 12pm to 1pm.

CEO of Ole! Media Group Tim Legg will discuss on the many opportunities open to women on the African continent now that digital communication is a reality in a talk called “Entrepreneurship: Women in Digital in Africa” that will start at 12:15pm and end at 1pm in the IBM SmartCamp & Entrepenuer Room.

Then from 3pm to 3:45pm, Leigh-Ann Fowle and Kirsty Sharman of Girl Geek Dinners Johannesburg will host a talk on how they built their community to what it is today in a session titled “Building a community of tech savvy women – the Girl Geek Dinners JHB story
