Five tech companies ranked among top 10 Best Global Brands, Apple tops entire list

International brand consultancy, Interbrand has just released its 2014 list of 100 Best Global Brands and for the second year in a row, Apple has topped the list, with Google also maintaining it’s number two position from last year.

Apple and Google are among five tech brands featured in the list’s top 10. IBM came in at number 4, Microsoft at number 5 and Samsung at number 7.

Among some of Interbrand’s criteria for a brand to be featured on the Best Global Brands are that a brand must be must be truly global, having successfully transcended geographic and cultural boundaries. It also will have expanded across the established economic centres of the world and have entered the major markets of the future and there must be sufficient publicly available data on the brand’s financial performance.

Interbrand then evaluates a brand’s overall financial return to an organisation’s investors, its ability to create loyalty and therefore, sustainable demand and profit into the future and the portion of customer’s or user’s purchase decision attributable to the brand.

Twelve tech brands in total were featured on the Best Global Brands, here they are in order of their ranking:

44. Accenture

66. 3M

77. Adobe

94. Huawei

98. Nokia
