[htxt.africast] Makerspaces in South Africa and the challenges that they face

Makerspaces are places where just about anybody can go to learn how to take things apart, how to improve existing products and how to create their own products using technology. There are already quite a few in South Africa, including the ever-popular House4Hack and Jozihub here in Johannesburg.

But while makerspaces are awesome in their own right, there is one problem that faces all of them as a collective: communication.

In today’s episode of the htxt.africast, we caught up with KAT-O (KickAssTech-Obviously)’s Robyn Farah at Tech4Africa here in Johannesburg, and asked her what makes makerspaces so cool as well as what can be done to address the challenges they are facing going forward.
