Drone captures amazing footage of Cape Town

For any tourist, Cape Town has some incredible sights that locals might not have seen before. Go a couple of kilometres in any direction and you are almost guaranteed to find some of the most beautiful scenery in the world.

So in an attempt to capture the incredible beauty of the Mother City, a DJI Phantom 2 drone was put into the sky and whizzed around the Western Cape’s natural resources – capturing some amazing footage of nature and animals in their natural habitat.

The Phantom 2 drone was piloted by DJI’s director of aerial imaging, Eric Cheng, and the almost four-minute GoPro-shot video shows the city bowl, Lion’s Head, Table Mountain, Cape Point and a rather brave seal that chases a shark into the breakers.

“A short aerial film showing the beauty of Cape Town and its surrounding area, including Lion’s Head, Table Mountain, Cape Point, Hout Bay, Simon’s Town, and Seal Island. Footage includes great white sharks from above at Seal Island, an aggregation of spotted gully sharks / sharptooth houndshark (Triakis megalopterus) in the surf near Cape Point in Table Mountain National Park, and a brown fur seal surfing in the waves,” Cheng wrote in the film’s description.
