Hisense is making Android powered 4k TVs in SA

In June this year we heard that Hisense’s Android-powered smart TVs would be making their way to South Africa in the near future and today we have confirmation that the brand’s latest set of 4k ultra high definition Vision televisions are now available in from big box retailers like Game and Makro.

The Hisense Vision brand of TVs are not only now available in South Africa, they’re also being built in South Africa at Hisense’s R350 million Atlantis factory which is on its way from employing 500 staff to a full compliment of 1 200 employees. It will be producing TVs and fridges for South Africa as well as exporting to Namibia, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Zambia, Botswana and Lesotho.

“The new Vision TV is set to be the benchmark in the television space. We continue to innovate in our product offering and with our 4-year warranty on all products, our customers can rest assured that they have a product of superior quality.  The Vision series of TVs is exciting for us as it is leaps and bounds ahead of our competitors and any other TV in the market.” said Jerry Liu, the general manager of Hisense South Africa.

“What is even more exciting for us, is that the Vision TVs will be produced locally in our factory in Atlantis – we are well on the way to creating more jobs locally by adding this to our list of products manufactured locally.”

We’re still awaiting pricing on the new Vision TV series of products and are expecting to get some of them in for review as well so we’ll keep you updated as and when they come along.
