So Update 2.0 is live, but how do the changes actually affect the PS4?

Gamespot was lucky enough to be invited to Sony’s UK headquarters, where they got to see Update 2.0 in action before any of us mere mortals.

They came back from the trip armed with the knowledge of how, exactly, the changes are going to work, and they were kind enough to share them with the world via this incredibly-detailed post that outlines the 26 essential takeaways they gleaned about the update.

They learned, for instance, that Share Play streams footage of the game you’re playing to your friend’s PS4 via the internet at a maximum resolution of 720p, and that each Share Play session lasts for just one hour. Once the session is over, another one can be initiated immediately, and an icon is created on your friend’s PS4 that takes them to the game’s store page once they’re done. Sony wouldn’t comment on the internet connection speed required to give the second party a decent experience, though, but they did say that only one player – the host – requires an active PlayStation Plus subscription for Share Play to work.

I think it’s actually little more than a clever marketing ploy by Sony, but since gamers get something out of it as well, I’m all for it.

That, and 25 other points (along with a succinct three-minute video outlining everything) are there for your perusal, so head over there now before you get home tonight so you have a better idea of what to expect from Update 2.0.
