SA’s top tech companies according to the Sunday Times

Local news house, the Sunday Times, held its Top 100 Companies Awards last night where it named Coronation Fund Managers as the top company in South Africa for the second year in a row.

The Sunday Times Top 100 Companies Awards recognises the best-performing businesses listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) based on their shareholder returns over the past five years.

A handful of tech companies also made it onto the list with Naspers securing the highest spot at 15, Mustek at 29, Vodacom at 50, Datatec at 68 and MTN at 75.

Telkom walked away with the Corporate Social Investment Award for Bandwidth Barn, the company’s ICT incubator based in Cape Town.

“This award reflects the fact that more companies are putting their money where their mouth is when it comes to CSI, improving their reputation not only among investors, but also among a wider group of stakeholders,” said Rob Rose, editor of the Sunday Times Business Times.
