If you missed Fat Princess for the PlayStation 3 back in 2009, isvisible.com says now’s your chance to get it for free. All you have to do is download and play Fat Princess: Piece of Cake for iOS and reach level 15, and as long as you’re logged in with your Facebook account and you have an active Sony Entertainment Network account, you’ll get a download code for Fat Princess for the PlayStation 3 for free.

I checked, and the only catch is you need to have an non South African iTunes account, as it’s not available in our local iTunes store. Boo!

And you’re really going to want both games, as they’re tons of fun. The iOS game is a match-three-meets-JRPG type game that has you matching coloured gems, and killing enemies with the resulting score. It’s a little tame compared to the PlayStation 3 game, which is a hilarious action-game-meets-tower-defense-meets-capture-the-flag type game that has you capturing and carrying pieces of cake back to your princess to fatten her up so she’s too heavy for the opposing team to carry away.

With such a hilariously un-PC premise, how can you not be immediately sucked in? For a closer look, check out Lord Karnage’s review of the PS3 game:

Should you not have the requisite foreign iTunes account or you simply don’t want to go through 15 levels of a game you may not enjoy to secure your free copy, you can grab Fat Princess: Piece of Cake from the PlayStation Store for just R119.

Deon du Plessis

Deon got his first taste of PC gaming at the tender age of 11 when his father bought an 8088 XT, ostensibly to "help him with his homework". Instead, it introduced him to Leisure Suit Larry, King Graham, Sonny Bonds and many more, and Deon has been a PC gamer and hardware enthusiast ever since. He landed his first professional writing gig in 2006 at a prestigious local PC magazine, a very happy happenstance as he got to write for a living about things he loves - tech, PCs, gaming, and everything in between. He's been writing about it all ever since, and loves every minute of it.
