5 finger-tapping Android games to keep you busy these holidays

The December holidays are almost upon us, and parents and kids alike are going to be in need of entertainment for those long road trips. Since everyone a mobile thing these days (and more often than not it runs Google’s mobile OS) we’ve put together a list of five Android games that are guaranteed to keep kids of all ages occupied as the slow, lazy summer days pass by.

Zen Pinball HD

Free

Pinball fans are going to love Zen Pinball HD’s gorgeous tables and the challenge of beating high scores put on by other players. Tables are highly detailed with plenty of combos to unlock and score streaks to hit, and its ball physics are hyper-realistic, making Zen Pinball HD one of the very best pinball games available for Android today. After you’ve played Zen Pinball HD’s first free table, you may even be tempted to cough up real cash for others thanks to the simulation’s incredibly accurate ball physics and the way the combos and special unlocks keep you playing “just one more ball”… It doesn’t hurt that there is a metric ton of themed tables to buy, including Star Wars, South Park, Marvel and more.

You’ll get to set traps, call in airstrikes and use your ingenuity to keep the hordes of fieldrunners from getting through, and succeeding requires a combination of good reflexes, strategic thinking and the ability to adapt your tactics on the fly. Cute cartoon graphics belie the tactical complexity of Fieldrunners 2, and touch controls have been streamlined to make keeping your actions per minute up where it needs to be.
