[WATCH] The Eskom power station silo come crashing down

Like many Joburgers in and around the city, the htxt.africa team was again left in the dark this morning after a substation failure left many areas sans power. Luckily we managed to make alternative plans and can keep things going on the site.

While this morning’s power issues may not have been down to loadshedding, the ever present threat of rolling brown-outs still looms large over the country after a Silo collapsed at Eskom’s Majuba power station in Mpumalanga.

The 40-second amateur cellphone footage below shows the silo as it comes crashing to the ground with a roar:
