LEGO has often been on the receiving end of public backlash for its “stereotypical” pink and purple blocks aimed at girls, while its regular bricks and minifigures are promoted as toys for boys. But it seems that the Danish toymaker is starting to come around if a new advert aimed at parents is anything to go by.
The heartwarming ad, titled #KeepBuilding, features a young girl telling her mom and dad to let her learn, figure things out and explore on her own as she uses LEGO to express herself, her imagination and make different creations.
“You taught me how to think and how to dream,” she says. “I’m about to make something, that I know will make you proud.”
