Microsoft’s Christmas present to gamers is R500 off a new Xbox One

We’ve just received word from Microsoft South Africa that the Xbox One is going to cost R500 less between December 8 and December 24.

That includes the standalone console as well as its various bundles, and applies to all retailers in South Africa that carry the Xbox One. Now’s the time to take the plunge if you’ve been putting it off, it would seem.

Here’s a quick rundown of the bundles and their new prices:

Standalone Xbox Ones bundled with FIFA 15 and the Limited Edition Sunset Overdrive version will now cost R5 799 each. The Call of Duty Limited Edition 1TB console (pictured) can be had for R6 799, and the Xbox One Kinect bundle with Dance Central Spotlight and FIFA 15 will go for R7 499.

That’s pretty good. We’ve heard rumblings that Ster Kinekor will be doing something similar with the PlayStation 4, but we’ve had no confirmation of what this will be, as yet.
