Get R500 off a PlayStation 4 and two free games this weekend only

We’ve just received official notice that PlayStation South Africa is getting in on the price-cutting December madness by snipping R500 off the recommended retail price of a PlayStation 4. The special will run on the 12th and 13th of December at all retailers that stock the console countrywide.

But that’s not all: the’re also throwing in two games – DRIVECLUB (worth R749) and The Last of Us Remastered (worth R699) for free.

That means for two days, South Africans can buy the PS4 for just R5 799.99 and get R1 448 worth of games for free in addition to the R500 discount.

While it’s primarily being done to celebrate the PlayStation 4’s one-year birthday – it launched on the 13th of December last year – it’s also a pretty good Christmas special.

Microsoft kicked off the console “special” wars earlier this week with its own R500-off deal that we reported on Tuesday. It runs between December 8th and December 24th, and is valid on Xbox Ones bundled with Sunset Overdrive/FIFA 15, the Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare 1TB Special Edition and the Kinect bundle that comes with Dance Central Spotlight and FIFA 15.
