Popular television scientist Bill Nye has been quite a bit in the news lately, but more recently he has taken to explaining just how evolution happened through the use of emojis.

That’s right – one of the most loved scientists (and Dancing with the Stars celebs – reality TV addict ed) used the colourful Japanese creations to explain, in somewhat simple terms, how all creatures on earth evolved.

The video stems from Nye’s participation in General Electric’s #EmojiScience campaign, where they even have a Periodic Table of Elements turned into the ​Emoji Table of Experiments​. As part of the campaign, if you SnapChat General Electric an emoji from its Table of Experiments, the company will respond with some cool science.

“This has been emojical science. That has been emojical – I mean we used emojis to tell the story of science, emojically. Scientific emojinised. We emojinised it. We shook it up with emoji, and then we told a story, the way you might do if you had too many Jell-O shots,” Nye jokes at the end.
