One thing South Africans know how to do well is to not take ourselves too seriously all the time, even through frustrating times like the current loadshedding situation with Eskom.

Twitter is always one of the best platform social media platforms we use to express ourselves, which is probably why a fun new hashtag called #IfEskomWasA, has just surfaced.

The hashtag reimagines Eskom as someone or something that’s unwanted, useless at what it does or second best to a better contender. For example, like the kid that nobody wants to play with at school, what Pepsi Cola tastes like compared to Coca Cola, a few unpleasant emojis and much more.

Definitely a creative way of turning a dark situation into something to chuckle about.
