To see when your area will be affected, Eskom encourages people to visit loadshedding.eskom.com to see the official schedules.
For a much better and more detailed visual overview of loadshedding, residents of Joburg, Tshwane and Cape Town can head over to our interactive load shedding maps to see when they’re at risk:
All you have to do is click on a spot near your home and you should see what the plans are for loadshedding in your area. There are three times per location, depending on which stage of emergency Eskom is in.
In slightly more alarming news, the Mail & Guardian published a story yesterday about how Eskom is under severe financial pressure right now, and The Daily Maverick published an article by Chris Yelland on new problems facing Eskom’s under-construction Medupi power plant. Yikes.
