An app to jumble your Tweets and turn them into poetry

If you’ve always dreamt of penning down your own Shakespeare-esque poem but don’t exactly posses the talent for putting words together eloquently, the answer may just be in your Twitter timeline.

A desktop app called Poetweet searches through your recent original tweets and randomly puts some of the words in them together to create a poem.

All you have to do is head over to Poetweet, type in your Twitter handle (make sure you select English at the top right corner) and choose whether you want to have your tweets turned into a sonnet, rondel or an indriso.

Hovering your mouse above each line will show you the full tweet from which the words are taken from.

Here’s what happened when I turned my tweets into a rondel (the title means “let us not be played around with” in isiZulu, in case you’re wondering).

The strange part is, the more I read it over and over, the more it starts to make a bit of sense.

You don’t have to sign into your account to have your tweets turned into poems and you can use the app to play around with other people’s tweets as well, all you need is their handle.

When you’re done, you can share your poems on Facebook and Twitter.

Poemtweet is a project members of a Brazilian contemporary cultural center called B_arco Centro Cultural, after they had taken a course in literary programming at the center.
