Google’s Earth mapping application is a really awesome way to get a bird’s eye view of famous landmarks and celebrity houses, and you’ll now be able to get a better view of your house with a lot more tools than previously available.

Google Earth Pro has been made available for free, and all you have to do is get a key from its website and download the professional version. The URL does state that it’s a trial, but Google hasn’t specified for what time length.

“Google Earth Pro has all the easy-to-use features and detailed imagery of Google Earth, along with advanced tools that help you measure 3D buildings, print high-resolution images for presentations or reports, and record HD movies of your virtual flights around the world,” Google said in a blog post.

We highly recommend that you grab a key as quickly as possible, as with the standard version you can only print screen resolution images, but with the Pro version you print out your favourite locations in premium high resolution.

If you enjoy importing GIS images, in the unlocked version you can now automatically geo-locate image, instead of having to do that manually. One of the other benefits is that the Pro version affords you the ability access demographic, parcel and traffic data layers, create premium movies and make use of the map making tool.
