Want to learn about 3D printing in Joburg? There’s a meet-up for that…

South Africa has a burgeoning and talented number of engineers and developers working in the field of 3D printing, and judging by the number of mails in the makers.htxt.africa account there’s a fair number of desktop printers out in the wild among the general populace too. If you own one of those, or are just curious about 3D printing and what it means for art and science in general, we might have an event for you.

Joburg-based Trobok Toys, a design firm that sells 3D models for creating your own playthings, is organising a meet-up for 3D printers in the luxurious surroundings of the Maboneng Precinct next Thursday at seven o’clock in the evening. It’ll take place at the collaboration space OPEN, and is free to all who want to come.

Just sign up to become part of the Johannesburg 3D print community over here. And if you can’t make it, keep an eye on makers.htxt.africa where we’ll post more events news for other makers get-togethers as we go.
