Did a case manufacturer out the Galaxy S6?

Is this Samsung’s next big hit? Is this the much-anticipated Galaxy S6 which will undoubtedly be unveiled at Mobile World Congress in Spain next month?

We can’t be too sure, but according to robotics manufacturer WowWee Robotics Group, the image below is indeed that of the new Samsung Galaxy S6, and was posted on microblogging website Weibo. But before you get too sceptical about the phone’s design, it does match up with images leaked last week.

Galaxy S6
Is this really the Galaxy S6?

This new leak comes hot on the heels of Apple’s request to mobile phone case manufacturers to stop using leaked information to build new designs.

The Cupertino company also urged case makers to stop leaking designs themselves, as they often get the blueprints in order to make enough mobile phone cases for a particular model’s release. (If company fail to agree to Apple’s terms, it could see its cases removed from Apple’s iStores.)

According to other leaked sources, the Galaxy S6 is expected to feature a “5.1-inch 2K display, a 2.1GHz Samsung Exynos 7240 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32+ GB of storage, a 20-megapixel rear camera, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera and Android 5.0.2 Lollipop.”

“Aside from all that, it’s pretty much what we’d expect from the Galaxy S6: an iterative improvement on the previous model that carries over the premium touches we first saw on the Note 4. The camera flash is on the side now instead of below the camera,” added The Verge.

There is a saying in the tech world – if you want to know when a phone is being released, don’t ask the manufacturer, ask the case makers. Whether all of this is true or not, we’ll have to wait until the first week on March to find out.
