Second annual UX SA Conference comes to Joburg this May

This May, the second annual UX South Africa Conference will be hosted in Johannesburg where user experience (or UX) community practitioners from cities around the country will gather to inspire, educate and develop skills through a mix of engaging talks and presentations.

UXSA will be held from the 14th to the 15th of May at the Sci-Bono Discovery Centre in Newtown. Early bird tickets are already on sale for R1 5o0, while normal tickets are going for R1 850 – one ticket gives you admission for both days of the conference.

In the meantime, Marg Laing from Durban is having a UX meet-up tonight at 5:30 pm at the Blue Waters Hotel Bar. If you are in Durban and would like to attend, check out the SA UX Facebook page.

Jason Hobbs from Joburg is conducting a survey to gauge the UX landscape in South Africa. The survey is an academic undertaking by Marco Pretorius, Terence Fenn and Jason Hobbs from the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University and University of Johannesburg. It’s aim is to assess the maturity of UX in SA over time and assist in growing and improving UX locally. (You can have a look at that on Survey Monkey if you’re interested.)
