You can finish The Order: 1886 in under six hours

On Friday, PlayStation 4 gamers will be able to play The Order: 1886, Sony’s long-awaited PS4-exclusive third-person shooter. If they’re good enough, they could have it all finished come Friday afternoon – playthroughs are surfacing online that clock the game’s playtime at anything from about five-and-a-half hours to fifteen.

Five-and-a-half hours is the bare minimum, though, and finishing that quickly requires few deaths and only playing those parts of the game that are unskippable.

For those that love to savour their games and take in as much of the stories, environments and characters as possible, this won’t be their The Order experience as getting through it that quickly means ignoring story-related items entirely and doing no exploring whatsoever. Also, who wants to pay R899 for a game and then only do the bare minimum? Not I, I can assure you.

Dualshockers has reported that YouTube user called PlayMeThrough posted a complete playthrough of the game, and it’s his run that comes in at the 5:30 mark. Another gamer reportedly took just nine hours to unlock The Order’s Platinum achievement.

If I know gamers, it won’t be long before PlayMeThrough’s time is history, since speed runs of games seem to be a popular thing to do. If the super-hard Dark Souls can be beaten in under 24 minutes, I’m sure this 5:30hrs record will go down soon enough.

The Order: 1886 stars a mustachioed member of the titular Order as he and his cohorts go after the “monsters and half-breeds” of the game’s monster-infested, alternate-history version of Victorian England, and is out on Friday the 20th of February for the PlayStation 4.
